A new study published in Alzheimer's & Dementia: The Journal of the Alzheimer's Association investigates traumatic brain injury (TBI) and dementia risk in male veteran older twins, controlling for genetic and early life non-genetic factors. The findings suggest that non-Alzheimer's disease mechanisms may underlie the association between TBI and dementia, potentially providing insight into inconsistent results from prior studies.
